The Power of Prayer

Prayer Works

If you feel disconnected from God and too connected to the world, prayer and fasting can help set your life back on track.

Prayer connects us to God. The more time you spend with God, the more your faith in Him grows. Prayer is not a formula. It is a relationship.

How to Pray

Pray Simply

We often complicate prayer by giving God specific instructions instead of trusting Him. Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us that God’s ways are higher than ours. Here are five simple steps to guide your prayer time:

  1. 1Ask the Holy Spirit for help. He is your guide.
  2. 2Trust the process. It is part of your journey.
  3. 3Declare God’s Word over your circumstance.
  4. 4Have faith that He hears you and His Word never changes.
  5. 5Anticipate clarity, peace, courage, and breakthrough.

Read the Word

John 10:10 says the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give life abundantly. You cannot pray powerful prayers without knowing what God’s Word says. Every answer you need is found in the Bible.

Pray Expectantly

Faith is key to breakthrough prayer. Isaiah 55:11 promises that God’s word always accomplishes its purpose. Stand on what God says, not on your feelings or circumstances, and expect Him to move.

Fasting

The goal of fasting is to draw closer to God. Biblical fasting removes distractions for a spiritual purpose. It resets your soul, renews you from the inside out, and prepares your heart to receive what God has for you.

Your personal fast should be challenging, but know your body, know your options, and seek God in prayer as you decide what fasting looks like for you.
